Coach Russ Plummer is in his 31st year at HHS.  He has taught history and geography at the high school, but currently teaches PE / wellness and has worked with the kickers for 28 years.  Coach Plummer coached the only Parade All-American that HHS has ever had on the football field in James Wilhoit (2001).  He attended Indiana University and was part of the 1984 National Champion runner-up and 1983 National Championship soccer teams.  Coach Plummer has also been the head girls and boys soccer coach for 31 years.  He has led the boys’ team to 3 state championships during his tenure.  He won state titles for the boys in 1989, 1998, and 2010.  On top of the 3 championships, his team was state runners-up in 1990, 2005, 2006, and the girls’ team was the state runner-up in 2003.  He has been married to his wife Denise for 29 years and has a daughter, Kelsey who is a graduate of Hendersonville where she was a member of the soccer team.  Kelsey went on to play soccer at the next level for four years at King College.  She has graduated from college and is in her 3rd year teaching physical education at Vienna Stuart Elementary School.  His son Joey (21) graduated from HHS where he was a member of the soccer team and the cross country team, he is currently a student at Southern Illinois University.  Coach Plummer is dedicated to Hendersonville High School and he has true COMMANDO Pride, our program is fortunate to have him involved with our team.
