The COMMANDOSreceived the opening kickoff, and would start their first drive at the Bear 44yard line after a nice return by #3 LaDontez Bryant and a facemaskpenalty.  HHS would look shaky on theirfirst 2 plays before #20 David Priddy converted the 3rd and longgetting HHS further into scoring territory. Seven plays into the drive Priddy would pass to #5 Jarrell Adams for a 5yard TD reception.  #38 Shawn Bowermanwould add the PAT to give HHS the early 7-0 lead.  Mt. Juliet would get 1 first down before theBlack & Gold defense would force a punt. HHS would return the punt after 3 plays.

The Golden Bears next drive would go into the 2ndquarter as they would convert a 3rd and long on a big passplay.  The COMMANDOS would look to have them stopped again before jumpingoffsides on 4th and 2 allowing the MJHS drive to continue.  Three plays later, the Bears would tie thescore at 7.  Needing to regain the lead, the COMMANDOS would get the ballback only to punt it back to Mt. Juliet after 3 plays.  The defense would continue to play well asthey got the Bears in another 3rd and long situation, but afterPriddy made a good pass break-up to kill the drive, he was called for passinterference and 4 plays later the Bears would score a TD to take a lead thatthey would not give up.  The teams wouldtrade punts before the clock went to all 0’s for halftime.

The COMMANDOSwould come out flat after halftime as they allowed MJHS to return the 2ndhalf kickoff to the 44 yard line before allowing the Bears to go the remaining56 yard to the endzone of the first snap of the 2nd half with a TDpass.  So 15 seconds into the 3rdquarter, the COMMANDOS would findthemselves down by 2 scores.  Priddywould spark the offense ripping off a 61 yard run on the 2nd play ofHendersonville’s first possession of the 2nd half putting the COMMANDOS inside the redzone.  HHS would have to call on Bowerman who wouldnail the 40 yard field goal to make the score 10-21.  Hendersonville would look to cut into thelead even more after forcing a turnover on the ensuing drive as #29 JariusGolden hustled to recover a fumble that Priddy had forced.  HHS would gain 0 yards following the turnovergoing 3 and out.  Mt. Juliet would answerwith a 3 and TD on a 54 yard run.  The COMMANDOS would again go three and outon the next series as well.  After thepunt, on the first snap for the Bears, #27 Andrew Pate would get aninterception that would give HHS life if they could capitalize off the turnover, however, the COMMANDOS would beforced to a punting situation again after 3 plays.  HHS would try to fake the puntunsuccessfully.

The Bears next drive would go into the fourthquarter with them scoring on the first play of the 4th quarter astheir quarterback would scramble for a 31 yard TD to make the score 10-35.  A turnover by the COMMANDOS would lead to the last score of the night as the Bearswould get the ball at the COMMANDO41 yard line.  They would eventuallyscore on a 5 yard run, but miss the PAT making the score 10-41.  HHS would be half to another 3 and outfollowing the kickoff, and HHS would force the Bears to their only punt of the2nd half before the clock ran out on the COMMANDOS last drive.

Hendersonville(5-4) will play their last regular season game next week at Memorial Stadium asthe COMMANDOS will face off againstthe Lebanon Blue Devils (2-7) at 7:00. The game will be Senior night, and we encourage everyone to come out andsupport our seniors for their last regular season game in their careers.
