What Does Commando Football Mean To You: COMMANDO Football means a brotherhood.

Austin was a hard working player that was an important part of the defensive secondary and Special Teams while seeing a little Friday night action at running back.  Ended his career with 17 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 interceptions, and 12 pass break ups from his cornerback position on defense.  Ran the ball 8 times for 32 yards and 1 touchdown.  He was a coachable player that always worked hard in practice.  He had a love for the game, and showed COMMANDO PRIDE though his practice habits, work ethic, and willingness to do whatever he could to help the team.

2016-Was a very important part of the defensive secondary as a cornerback.  After missing time early due to injury, Austin fought his way back on the field, starting several games while seeing a lot of game action in the 2nd half of the season.  He also started on Special Teams and saw some Friday night reps at running back on offense.  Ended the season with 4 tackles, 1 interception, 3 pass break ups, and 1 tackle for lost yardage.  Recorded 2 tackles against Station Camp with 1 of them being for lost yards while adding 1 tackle versus Gallatin and East Nashville.  His interception came against Glencliff, and he broke up 2 passes versus Hunters Lane and 1 against Hillsboro.  Ran the ball 2 times during the season for (-8) yards.


2015-Earned his way into the rotation in the defensive secondary where his was a very important member of the defense while seeing limited game action on offense at running back.  He also saw some Friday night action on Special Teams.  Ended the season with 1 interception, 8 tackles, and 8 pass break ups.  Had a season high of 2 tackles in both the Beech and Hillsboro games while adding 1 tackle against McGavock, Cane Ridge, Gallatin, and Glencliff.  Had a season best 2 pass break ups versus both McGavock and East Nashville.  Had 1 pass break up against Cane Ridge, Hillsboro, Station Camp, and Shelbyville.  His interception came in the Hunters Lane contest.  Ran the ball 4 times for 25 yards with 1 touchdown.  Had a career high 17 rushing yards against Hillsboro where he scored his TD as well as had his career long rush of 12 yards.


2014-Did a good job working hard throughout the season and getting better.  Played on the JV team and earned some playing time in the defensive secondary, also saw limited game action at running back.  Ended the season with 5 tackles and 1 pass break up on defense, and ran the ball twice for 15 yards.  Had a season high 2 tackles against Wilson Central while adding 1 tackle versus Hunters Lane, Brentwood, and Portland.  His pass break up came in the Station Camp game.  Ran the ball 1 time in the Wilson Central game for a season long 10 yard gain, and ran 1 time in the Lebanon game for 5 yards.


2013-Helped to the Freshman team to an undefeated season as he contributed in all three phases of the game.  He did a great job in the defensive backfield as he started 3 games during the season and saw action in every game.  He was always able to make plays when he got the opportunity.  He was able to take advantage of his opportunities through hard work and disciplined practice habits.  He started on Special Teams and also saw plenty of game action on offense.  He wore jersey #13 for the Freshman team.
