What Does Commando Football Mean To You: Doing whatever it takes to be a champion because no one has it better than we do.

Josh was a four year player in the COMMANDO program.  He had an injury plagued career, but was an effective player when healthy.  He showed great resolve by fighting his way back after each injury and earning his way back into the rotation to see time on Friday nights.  Josh was a very hard worker both on and off the field, and was committed to doing his best in everything he did.  He worked hard in the classroom and won the teams ‘ACADEMIC AWARD’ for the senior with highest GPA on the team in 2017.  Ended his career with 22 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 6 pass break ups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.  Josh was a great teammate and a team player and his presence in the COMMANDO family with be missed.

2017-Returned to the field after missing his entire junior season.  Had a solid season on both sides of the ball, playing cornerback on defense and split end on offense.  Won the teams ‘ACADEMIC AWARD’ at the team banquet for highest GPA on the team.  Ended the season with 17 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 6 pass break ups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.  Recorded at least 1 tackle in 10 of the teams 11 contests with his career high of 3 tackles twice, having 3 stops versus Lebanon and Wilson Central.  Broke up passes against Beech, Lebanon, Franklin, Gallatin, Rossview, and Mt. Juliet.  His tackle for loss came against Franklin.  Recovered a fumble against Wilson Central and forced a fumble versus Gallatin.

2016-Missed entire season due to injury.

2015-Did a good job working into the rotation in the defensive secondary before suffering an injury that set him back.  Returned to the field and earned some more playing time on defense.  Ended the season with 5 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.  Had a season best 2 tackles in the East Nashville game.  Also recorded tackles against Station Camp, Glencliff, and Hunters Lane.  His tackle for loss came in the team’s 31-0 victory over Station Camp.  He also played on the JV team.

2014-Despite having to miss the entire season with an injury, Josh was a big part of the team as he never missed a practice, meeting, or workout.  He paid attention and tried to learn everyday as he recovered from injury.  He was #11 on the Freshman squad although he never got to suit up.
