What Does Commando Football Mean To You: A brotherhood that can't be broken by differences, a team that would kill and die for one another.

Eric returned to the COMMANDOS in 2015 after not playing during his sophomore season, and had a solid two years on the field ending up being a starter in the defensive backfield.  Ended his career with 16 tackles, 1 sack, 2 QB pressures, 4 pass break ups, and 3 interceptions with 2 of them being returned for touchdowns.  Had one of the longest interceptions returns in HHS football history with a 95 yard return for touchdown on a pass he intercepted against Hunters Lane in the team’s final game of 2016.  On offense, he had 8 rushes for 68 yards.  He showed a love for the game, coming to practice every day with a good attitude and being ready to be coached.  He worked hard starting on Special Teams in each of the past two seasons, while seeing some action at running back on offense, and working his way into a starting role on defense.  He did a good job in each of the past two seasons and the COMMANDOS will miss his hard work and dedication.

2016-Started on Special Teams all season long, doing a good job for the COMMANDOS.  He also saw some game action at running back while working his way into a starting role on defense.  He worked very hard every day at practice, and after not seeing much time on defense in the first four games of the season, Eric became an important part of the defensive backfield being a starter.  Saw a lot of game action on defense in each of the last 6 games of the season.  Ended the season with 9 tackles, 1 sack, 2 QB hurries, 4 pass break ups, and 3 interceptions.  His interceptions came against East Nashville, Glencliff, and Hunters Lane.  His interceptions versus East Nashville and Hunters Lane were both returned for TD’s.  He returned the interception against East Nashville 35 yards to the endzone while his interception return in the Hunters Lane game was one of the longest in HHS history as he raced 95 yards to the endzone.  Tied a career high of 3 tackles against Station Camp, and also recorded stops against Hillsboro, East Nashville, Gallatin, and Hunters Lane.  His sack was made in the East Nashville game.  Had hurries versus Hillsboro and Hunters Lane.  Broke up 2 passes against Station Camp, and 1 against East Nashville and Glencliff.  His lone rushing attempt on the season was against Glencliff and was the longest rush of his career as he gained 19 yards.

2015-Rejoined the team after not playing during his sophomore season.  He did a good job working hard at practice and getting back into a football mindset.  He played on the JV team, but also saw some game action on Friday nights being a starter on the kickoff team.  Ended the season with 7 tackles, and ran the ball 7 times for 49 yards.  Recorded stops in 5 different games including a career high of 3 tackles in the team’s 30-16 victory over Beech.  Also had tackles against McGavock, East Nashville, Station Camp, and Hunters Lane.  Rushed the ball in 3 games having 1 run against Station Camp and Glencliff while having a career high 38 yards on 5 carries versus Hunters Lane that included his season long rush of 14 yards.

2014-Did not play.

2013-One of the most versatile players on the team, he had the ability to play quarterback, running back, or split end on offense and saw game action at all 3 of those positions during the team’s undefeated season.  He also had the ability to play any of the spots in the defensive secondary.  He was a natural leader for the Freshman squad and his work habits helped everyone get better, while his unselfish attitude let his teammates know that he was committed and that the team was more important than any of the individuals on the team.  In addition to the multiple positions he played on offense and defense, he started on every Special Team.  He wore jersey #5 as a Freshman.
