What Does Commando Football Mean To You: Working as hard as you can to represent the community around you.

Robert is a great kid that is returning for his senior season after having an excellent junior season.  He was the teams 3rd best tackler, finishing last season with 41 total stops while being named 3rd team ‘ALL-COUNTY’ as a linebacker.  He returns as a starting linebacker where he helped lead the defense throughout the season; he is likely to return as a starter at linebacker this fall.  He also plays tight end on offense where he was in the rotation in 2017 and will compete for playing time in 2018.  He is having a good offseason and should be one of the team’s leaders this fall.  He is the epitome of a student-athlete; he is a very coachable player that works hard, makes good decisions, and always does his best.  He has great work ethic and is continually getting better; he also works hard in the classroom where he takes honors level classes and is consistently on the teams honor roll.  With his commitment and dedication to COMMANDO football, he should be a player to watch when the team takes the field this fall.

2017-Earned a starting spot at linebacker on defense while working his way into the rotation at tight end on offense.  He was also a starter on Special Teams.  Was named 3rd team ‘ALL-COUNTY’ as a linebacker where he was the teams 3rd leading tackler with 41 total tackles.  In addition to the tackles, he added 4 tackles for loss, 3 pass break ups, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 QB hurry.  Made stops in 10 of the teams 11 games while leading the team in tackles once during the season.  Had a career high 8 tackles in the team’s playoff game.  Led the team in tackles in the game against Gallatin with 7 tackles, 2 of which were lost yardage.  Other tackles for loss came against Wilson Central and Mt. Juliet.  Broke up passes versus Franklin, Wilson Central, and Rossview.  Forced a fumble against Centennial while recovering a fumble in the 1st round of the playoffs.  His QB hurry was recorded in the Station Camp game.

2016-Played on the JV team while seeing a little action on Friday nights.  Ended the season with 7 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.  Recorded a season high 4 tackles versus Glencliff while adding 1 against Siegel, East Nashville, and Hunters Lane.  His tackle in the team’s season ending victory over Hunters Lane was for minus yardage.

2015-Was a two way starter for the Freshman team.  He was one of the most intelligent players on the team where he started at linebacker on defense as well as on the offensive line helping the Freshman squad to an overall 5-2 record.  He wore jersey #55 during the Freshman season.
