What Does Commando Football Mean To You: Learning to be a be a leader and overcome things that you don't think you can do. Working as one and accomplishing the goal of success from all the time/effort put in through the blood/sweat/tears to become a better person and closer to being a man.

Austin is a team leader, and was a key member of the COMMANDOS back to back playoff teams in 2008 and 2009.  His teammates voted him as a 'Team Captain' his senior year.  He was a 4 year player for the COMMANDOS, and 3 year starter for the Varsity team.  Was also one of the hardest workers in the weightroom, and was in the top 3 in every category for the weightroom.  Ended career with 104 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 3 quarterback hurries, 3 passes defended, and 1 fumble recovery.  With all of his experience, Austin will be hard to replace as he was a 2 way starter and major contributor on Special Teams.  He was selected to the All-District team as well as being a 1st team selection for the All-County team for the 2009 season.  At the All-District banquet Austin had the honor of being voted as the District 9-AAA 'Most Valuable Offensive Lineman'.

2009-Started every game at offensive guard, linebacker, and on special teams.  Was key member of the offensive line.  Was leader on defense, and recorded at least 2 tackles in all 11 games.  Tied his career high for tackles in a game with 12 in games against Beech and Northeast; was team leader in tackles in both of those games.  In the Beech game those 12 tackles included 1 for loss, and he added 2 tackles for loss in the Northeast game.  Also had 2 quarterback hurries (both against Lebanon), and defended 3 passes (1 in each of the Hunters Lane, Wilson Central, and Station Camp games).  Also played on every special teams unit, and was very good on all of them.  Rarely stepped off the field in 2009.

2008-Started every game in 2008 for the COMMANDOS at Offensive Guard.  Also, started 2 games at Linebacker.  Recorded 30 total tackles.  Led team in tackles in first 2 games of the season.  Had 9 tackles with 2 tackles for loss in COMMANDOS season opening win 35-3 over Station Camp in Week 0.  Also led the team with 12 tackles in HHS's only regular season loss at Beech.  Austin had 1 fumble recovery that came in the teams’ 17-6 Region Championship clinching win at Hunters Lane.  Was also a contributor to the Special Teams, and played in JV games.

2007-Was a two way player for COMMANDOS in 2007 at Guard and Linebacker.  Had 9 total tackles; had season high 3 tackles in HHS's 56-21 victory over Hillwood. Was one of the COMMANDOS strongest players and hardest workers.  Played in all JV games.

2006-Was important member of Freshman team.
