What Does Commando Football Mean To You: I enjoy coming to football everyday to not only be a part of this team, but to be a part of the COMMANDO family.

Shawn had a great career as a kicker and punter for the COMMANDOS, being the teams’ kicker for both his junior and senior seasons.  Won multiple awards after having a very good senior season as he was named ‘Most Valuable Specialty Player’ for District 9-AAA, ‘1st Team All-County’, won the teams ‘Specialty Award’, as well as the teams ‘Academic Award’.  Shawn was consistently on the honor roll for the team which is very important to the coaching staff, and it shows his commitment to being a champion in all aspects of his life.  He made 37 consecutive extra points from the Gallatin game in 2010 to the Riverdale game in 2011 which is the 2nd longest streak in school history.  Ended career 88 out of 94 on PAT’s and 18 for 32 on field goals.  Also handled all of the kickoff duties for the team in 2010 and 2011 as well as punting the ball 98 times for 3,579 yards.  His 12 field goals during the 2011 season is the 2nd most all time by a COMMANDO kicker, and 18 career field goals ranks him 4th all time.

2011-Continued duties as the teams’ kicker on PAT’s, kickoffs, field goals, and punts.  Had a great year being named to the ‘All-District’ team in 9-AAA where he won the award for the ‘Most Valuable Specialty Player’.  Was also named ‘1st Team All-County’, and was voted by his teammates as the ‘Specialty Award’ winner for HHS; also won the teams ‘Academic Award’ which goes to the player with the highest GPA on the team.  Made 12 field goals on 17 attempts, and was 5 for 8 on field goals of 40 or more yards.  Made 46 of 49 extra points, and averaged just under 38 yards per punt with a season long 54 yard punt against Franklin.  Made 12 tackles during the season including a career high of 3 tackles versus Franklin, had 2 tackles versus Station Camp, Riverdale, and Henry County, and recorded 1 tackle in the Germantown, Portland, and Mt. Juliet games.  Tied a career high of 6 extra points made in the 1st Round of the playoffs versus Springfield.  Went 3 for 3 on field goals during the regular season Beech game that included his career long 48 yarder.  Was good on 3 field goals during the playoffs, and went a perfect 12 for 12 on PAT’s in the playoffs.  Made field goals against Wilson Central, Portland, Beech, Gallatin, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, Beech (playoffs), and Henry County.

2010-Assumed duties of kickoffs, punts, and extra points for the COMMANDOS.  Accounted for 1,954 yards of field position on his 55 punts.  Went 6 out of 15 on field goal attempts and was 42 of 46 on PAT’s.  Also did an excellent job of kickoffs all season long.  Had his career high of 7 punts in the Riverdale game.  Kicked a career long punt of 57 yards in the Gallatin playoff game.  Made field goals in games against Station Camp, Beech, Henry County, and Clarksville Northeast.  Accounted for all 9 points scored for HHS during regulation of the Beech game including nailing a season long 44 yarder, and his PAT in overtime turned out to be the game winning point in the game.  Kicked a career high 6 extra points in the Portland game.  Also finished season with 2 tackles, 1 in the Beech game and 1 in the Semi-Final playoff game versus Ridgeway.

2009-Kicked for the JV team.  Was a backup kicker for the Varsity team.

2008-Member of the Freshman team.  Took care of all kicking duties for the Freshman squad.  Won the 'Special Teams' Award for the Freshman which is voted on by his teammates.

-Member of HHS Soccer team and helped them to the 2010 3A State Championship
