What Does Commando Football Mean To You: COMMANDO football is a place where only hard work is accepted and that's all that will be given this season.

Had a very solid career for the COMMANDOS.  Played Running Back, Strong Safety, and was on Special Teams every season during his 4 year career at HHS.  Andrew has developed into a good young man with great character.  He was an active member of the FCA at Hendersonville High School throughout his 4 years as a part of our program.  Suffered a broken arm during spring practice prior to his Senior season, and during Senior season, he suffered numerous other injuries that never allowed him to play 100% healthy.  Even with injuries, he was still able to cap a good career off in 2012 with a solid season.  He was voted by his teammates as a ‘Captain’ and the teams’ ‘Most Valuable Player’.  In addition to those honors, Andrew also won the teams’ ‘Academic’ Award and was named 2nd team ‘All-County’ at Running Back.  Ended his career 4th all time in COMMANDO football history with an outstanding 7.96 yards per carry average.  He rushed for 637 yards on 80 carries and scored 11 rush TD’s during his 3 years playing varsity football.  He also tallied 5 receptions for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns, and had 3 kick returns for 24 yards.  On defense, he totaled 73 tackles, 18 pass break ups, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 interception.  His 81 yard TD reception against Mt. Juliet in 2012 was the 3rd longest passing play in HHS football history.  Andrew will be missed in 2013, and HHS was fortunate to have such a fine person as part of their football team.

2012-Battled through injuries all season, but played through them to have a productive season on offense, defense, and special teams.  Was voted along with teammate Ryan Ward as the teams ‘Captains’ as well as being voted ‘MVP’.  In addition to being voted by his teammates for those two awards, he also won the ‘Academic’ Award which goes to the player with the highest GPA.  He was the top scorer on the team with 50 total points scored, and was #1 in TD’s scored with 8.  He also led team in yards per carry with an average of 8.7 for the season and led team in yards per reception with 28.3.  Ended season with 55 rushes for 479 yards which was 2nd on the team.  He led the team in rushing against Portland with 118 yards as well as against Station Camp with 85 yards.  He had a career long rush of 71 yards in the Portland game.  His career high rushing yards for a game came in the Mt. Juliet game when he rushed for 143 yards and 2 TD’s.  Scored touchdowns against Station Camp, Germantown, Portland, Beech, and Mt. Juliet, and scored a 2 point conversion in the Gallatin game.  Had a career best 3 touchdowns against MJHS, 2 were rushing and 1 was an 81 yard reception which is the 3rd longest pass play in COMMANDO football history.  Was 3rd on the team in receiving yards with 113 yards on 4 receptions.  Recorded tackles in 8 games including a season high 7 tackles against Germantown.  Had pass break ups in 7 different games.  His tackle for loss was in the Wilson Central game.  Was named 2nd team ‘All-County’ for his efforts throughout the year.

2011-Did a good job of the COMMANDOS in all 3 phases of the game.  Started 6 of the last 7 games at Strong Safety on the defensive side of the ball.  Also played a lot in the offensive backfield.  Ended season with 39 tackles, 1 interception, and 8 pass break ups.  Recorded a career high 8 tackles in the regular season match up with Beech.  Had tackles in 9 other games.  Had a career high 3 pass break ups versus Gallatin in the regular season, also broke up passes against Springfield, Station Camp, Germantown, and Mt. Juliet.  His interception came in the Mt. Juliet game.  Ran the football in 9 games and finished season with 101 yards on 17 carries with 3 touchdowns.  Had a season best 42 rushing yards including his season long rush of 36 yards in the 1st Round playoff game versus Springfield.  Scored TD’s against Portland, Gallatin, and Springfield.  Tallied 1 reception that went for 14 yards that was in the Portland game.  Had kickoff returns versus Mt. Juliet (5 yards) and Wilson Central (3 yards).

2010-Played on the JV team, and started for the Varsity on Special Teams.  Saw limited game action during Varsity games on offense and defense.  Ended season with 12 tackles, 8 rushing attempts for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Also had 1 kickoff return for 16 yards.  Ran the ball against Lebanon, Hunters Lane, Portland, and Gallatin.  Recorded tackles against Lebanon, LaVergne, Hunters Lane, Station Camp, and Henry County.  His kickoff return came against Mt. Juliet.  Scored TD’s against Hunters Lane and Portland.  His 17 rushing yards against Portland was his season best.  His longest rush of the season of 14 yards came in the Lebanon game.  Recorded a season high of 4 tackles against Station Camp.

2009-Helped lead the Freshman team to a 6-2 record.  Was a starter at Running Back, Strong Safety, and Special Teams.  Was voted by his teammates as the teams 'Most Valuable Player' and the teams 'Most Valuable Back'.  The Freshman would not have been as good as a team without him and his leadership.  He wore jersey #22 for the Freshman team.
