What Does Commando Football Mean To You: COMMANDO football to me means working as hard as we can to get to our goal of being state champions.

Drew had a solid career as a Defensive End for the COMMANDOS.  In addition to be an anchor at End on defense, he also helped at Tight End and on Special Teams during his career at HHS.  He ended his career with 149 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 14 QB hurries, 5 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 pass knock down.  He was a 4 year player in the COMMANDO program, and was named ‘All-County’ in 2011.  Continued to work hard and was still able to be a productive defensive player throughout 2012 although he suffered injury that hampered him all season.  His ability and defensive awareness will be missed.

2012-Suffered injury that stuck with him the entire season, and limited him to playing mostly on the defensive side of the ball, but he did see some game action at Tight End.  Had a good season on defense finishing 3rd on the team in tackles with 46 while also recording 4 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, 8 QB hurries, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.  Recorded at least 2 tackles in every game of the season.  His 8 quarterback hurries was the most on the team.  Recorded a career best 3 QB hurries against Station Camp in the season opener.  Had a season high of 7 tackles in the Lebanon game.  His sack came against Portland.  Recorded tackles for loss against Franklin, Germantown, Riverdale, and Beech.  Had QB pressures in the Station Camp, Wilson Central, Germantown, Portland, and Gallatin games.  Both his forced fumble and fumble recovery was versus Germantown.

2011-Had a great year on the defensive side of the ball at his Defensive End position.  Was the teams 2nd leading tackler with 100 tackles, and led team in tackles in 3 games.  Was named ‘2nd Team All-County’.  Also did a good job on Special Teams and saw a little game action at Tight End.  Ended season with 100 tackles, 4 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 4 forced fumbles, 6 QB hurries, and 1 pass knock downs.  Recorded at least 1 tackle in all 14 games.  Led team in tackles with 11 versus Portland, 11 versus Springfield, and 6 against Lebanon.  In the season opener versus Station Camp, Drew had 8 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 tackle for loss, and 2 forced fumbles.  Had a career best 11 tackles in 3 different games (Henry County, Springfield, and Portland).  Had 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and 1 QB pressure in the 2nd Round playoff game against Gallatin.  Recorded tackles for loss against Station Camp, Portland, Riverdale, Beech, Lebanon, Springfield, Beech (playoffs), and Henry County.  Pass knock down was in the Germantown game.  Recorded a season best 2 hurries versus Riverdale, and had 1 hurry against Franklin, Lebanon, Springfield, and Gallatin (playoffs).  Had 3 tackles for loss in the regular season game against Beech, and forced a fumble in both Gallatin games.

2010-Played on the JV team and saw some game action for the Varsity.  Fought through injuries all season long.  Played at Strong Safety as well as on the Defensive Line.  Also, saw reps at Tight End in several games.  Ended season with 3 tackles that included 1 sack.  Had a season high 2 tackles in the Station Camp game and his sack came in the teams 1st Round Playoff victory over Gallatin.

2009-Was a key player on Defense as the starting Strong Safety.  Helped the Freshman team to a 6-2 overall record.  Also saw some playing time at Running Back on offense.
