What Does Commando Football Mean To You: Commando football means to me that we work together as a brotherhood and as a team to achieve our goal as a team.

Taylor was one of the teams most committed players during his 4 year career with the COMMANDOS.  Won the teams ‘COMMANDO PRIDE’ award as a Senior.  His 118 tackles during 2010 is the 3rd most tackles recorded in a season in HHS history.  Was an excellent Linebacker, Tight End, as well as a big contributor on Special Teams.  Was a member of the ‘All-District’ team and was named ‘1st Team All-County’ at Linebacker.  He was a 1,000 lb club member as one of the teams’ strongest players and had the teams top power clean.  Was a great leader for the COMMANDOS helping HHS get to the State Championship Game his Senior year.  Ended career with 172 tackles, 8 sacks, 8 QB hurries, 5 tackles for loss, 5 pass break ups, 8 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble, and 1 defensive touchdown.  On offense he had 1 reception for 20 yards and carried the ball times for 19 yards.  He is planning on attending Carson-Newman College with a football scholarship, and the COMMANDOS will miss his presence in 2011.

2010-Won teams ‘COMMANDO PRIDE’ award as well as being named to the ‘All-District’ team and was ‘1st Team All-County’ at Linebacker.  Started all 15 games at Linebacker as well as making several starts at Tight End and being a very important part of the Special Teams.  His 118 tackles puts 3rd all time in COMMANDO football history.  Also had 6 sacks, 3 pass break ups, 2 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, 2 QB hurries, and 8 fumble recoveries.  Led team in tackles twice with 12 versus Riverdale and 13 in the 2nd Round playoff game versus Henry County.  Had sacks against Lebanon, LaVergne, Gallatin, and Columbia.  Recovered fumbles versus Lebanon, LaVergne, Hunters Lane, Wilson Central, both Gallatin games, Ridgeway, and Columbia.  Scooped up a fumble in the first Gallatin and ran into the endzone for his defensive touchdown.  His fumble recovery in the State Championship went for the teams only points of the game after he pitched the ball to Joe Townsend who took it into the endzone.  Tackles for loss were against LaVergne and the playoff game against Gallatin.  On offense, Taylor caught 1 pass that went for 20 yards in the 16-15 overtime victory over Beech.

2009-Was a starter on Special Teams, and played in all 11 games at Linebacker and Tight End for the COMMANDOS.  Recorded 37 tackles which included 3 for loss and 1 sack.  Led team in tackles twice this season, the first being when he had 8 tackles which was his season high against Mt. Juliet, and also lead team in the Hunters Lane game with 6 tackles.  His sack came versus Lebanon.  Was selected as a ‘2nd Team All-County’ performer.

2008-Played as backup at linebacker and was a special teams player.  Had 5 carries for 19 yards, and recorded 17 tackles with 1 sack and 1 QB Hurry.  Recorded a season high 3 tackles in 3 different games (Station Camp, Beech, Hillwood).  Taylor's sack and QB Hurry both came in HHS's 35-3 victory over Station Camp.  Had career long rush of 5 yards against Antioch.  Career high rushing yards for a game is 7 which came against Glencliff.

2007-Was two way player for the Freshman COMMANDOS in 2007, will likely help Varsity team on Special Teams and compete for playing time at Linebacker. Taylor is a dedicated worker who is very coachable. He works hard in the weightroom, on the track, and on the field.
