Whit ended his career as one of the best Linebackers to ever put on the Black & Gold uniform.  He also excelled as a Running Back and Special Teams member.  He is also one of the most decorated players in HHS history as he was voted as the District 9-AAA ‘Most Valuable Defensive Player’, two time ‘All County’ performer, two time ‘All District’, 2010 ‘All-State’ at Linebacker, and is the only player to win ‘Sumner County Defensive Player of the Year’ two years in a row.  Was also voted by his teammates as the teams ‘Most Valuable Player’ and a ‘Team Captain’ with teammates Elijah Howell, Joe Townsend, and Troy Dye.  Is also the COMMANDOS all time leader in tackles in a season with his 142 in 2010 and leader in tackles for a career with 248.  Was the leader of the defense at Linebacker where he made all the calls for the COMMANDOS.  He was an excellent blitzer and great at reading offenses.  Was consistent on the offensive side of the ball as well as on the Special Teams.  On top of those accomplishments, Whit excelled in the classroom and is also a leader on the Soccer team.  Ended career with 248 tackles, 10 sacks, 13 QB hurries, 8 tackles for loss, 12 pass break ups, 1 interception, 8 forced fumbles, 7 fumble recoveries, and 1 defensive touchdown.  On offense had 139 rushing attempts for 898 yards and 8 TD’s and amassed 7 receptions for 58 yards.

2010-Started on both sides of the ball for the second straight season and had another excellent season for the COMMANDOS.  Was voted as the ‘Most Valuable Defensive Player’ for District 9-AAA, and was Sumner County’s ‘Co-Defensive Player of the Year’ with teammate Joe Townsend.  Named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association ‘5A All-State Team’.  Won 2 teams awards as voted by his teammates as the teams ‘Most Valuable Player’ as well as a ‘Team Captain’.  Made all the calls on defense, and the team would not have been as good defensively without Whit’s leadership and ability.  Ended season with an HHS record 142 tackles.  Also recorded 6 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recovery, 6 pass break ups, 12 QB hurries, 3 tackles for loss, and 1 interception.  Ran the ball 71 times for 515 yards and 1 TD, and had 7 receptions for 58 yards.  Tallied at least 4 tackles in all 15 games for the COMMANDOS and led team in tackles in 8 games.  Was the team leader in tackles against Lebanon, LaVergne, Mt. Juliet, Hunters Lane, Station Camp, Portland, Beech, and Henry County.  Had a career high 14 tackles in the teams overtime victory against Beech.  Had 8 tackles and 1 sack in the State Championship Game.  Had a career best 5 QB hurries in the 1st Round Playoff game versus Gallatin.  Interception came against Station Camp.  Led team in rushing yards in 3 different games, and was the team leader in receptions versus Ridgeway with 3 while his 18 yards receiving against Hunters Lane was the teams most.  Eclipsed the 100 yard mark rushing 1 time in 2010 with 119 yards against Portland which included his career long rush of 68 yards that went for a touchdown.  Led team in rushing yards against Hunters Lane, Portland, and Columbia in the State Championship Game.  His career long reception of 18 yards came in the Hunters Lane game.  Was also an important part of the COMMANDOS Special Teams.

2009-Sumner County Defensive Player of the Year at Linebacker for the COMMANDOS where he recorded at least 3 tackles in every game.  Was also elected to the ‘All-District’ team.  Ended season with 88 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 3 pass break ups, 2 forced fumbles, and 4 fumble recoveries.  Led team in tackles in 5 games (Lebanon, LaVergne, Mt. Juliet, Wilson Central, and Portland).  Had season high 12 tackles versus Wilson Central.  Recorded sacks against Lebanon, LaVergne, Hunters Lane, and Beech; forced fumbles against Riverdale and Wilson Central; Recovered fumbles against Lebanon, Wilson Central, Beech, and Gallatin.  Carried the football in all 11 games, had 235 rushing yards for 235 yards and 5 touchdowns.  Had season high in rushing yards and a career high in touchdowns with 97 yards and 3 TD's against Mt. Juliet and had season long rush of 14 yards in game, also had 2 TD's versus Hunters Lane.  Had 1 kickoff return for 11 yards in the Beech game as he was a member of most special teams.

2008-Played Special Teams and was a blocking fullback for the Region 5 Champion COMMANDOS.  Whit got carries rushing the football in 8 games, averaged 7.75 yards per carry, and had 186 total yards.  Season long rush of 25 yards came in 38-21 victory against Overton.  Was team rushing leader in the COMMANDOS playoff loss to Franklin with 72 yards and 1 touchdown.  Also scored a TD against Dickson County.  Ended season with 18 total tackles; 2 being tackles for loss; one against Station Camp, and one versus Overton.  Had season high 6 tackles in game against Overton.  Also scored a Special Teams touchdown as he recovered a punt that was blocked by senior Roman Shutt in Antioch game.  Played on the JV team as well.

2007-Member of the Freshman team.  Is a very tough runner who started both ways, but missed most of the season with an injury.

-Member of the COMMANDO Soccer Team, and helped lead them to a 3A State Championship in 2010.
