What Does Commando Football Mean To You: Putting your teammates before yourself, being unselfish, and working as hard as you can to achieve the ultimate goal.

Tyler was a four year player for the COMMANDOS that was always working hard to improve throughout his career.  He was one of the strongest players on the team and made an impact for the team from his Tight End and Defensive End positions.  He fought through injuries during each of his four seasons with the program, but continued to work hard and get better.  When healthy, he was the best blocking Tight End on the team.  He played a lot of snaps at Tight End during both his junior and senior seasons, and worked into the rotation at Defensive End during his senior year when he helped his team win a District 9-AAA Championship.  Ended career with 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 1 QB pressure.  He had COMMANDO Pride and the program will miss him.

2014-Fought through injuries throughout the season, but was still able to see significant playing time at both Tight End on offense as well as Defensive End.  He ended the season with 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 QB hurry, and 1 forced fumble.  Tyler recorded a career best 3 tackles against Riverdale.  His tackle for loss came in the Hunters Lane contest.  He had one hurry against Brentwood, and was able to force a fumble versus Mt. Juliet.  On the offensive side of the ball, he was the team’s best blocking Tight End when he was healthy.

2013-Did a good job working hard everyday at practice which earned him playing time on Friday nights at Tight End.  He also saw limited game action at Defensive End during the season.  His consistent improvement at Tight End greatly helped the teams’ depth at that position and he was able to be an excellent blocker helping the team gain the most rushing yards during a season in school history.

2012-Suffered injury for the second consecutive season that hampered his ability to play up to his potential.  Played on the JV team, and made improvements throughout the season.

2011-Was limited due to injuries throughout the Freshman season, but came back at the end of the year to start at TE and played a lot on defense.  Wore jersey #44 for the Freshman Squad.
