What Does Commando Football Mean To You: A group of people coming together for one common goal.

Bryce had an outstanding four year career for the COMMANDOS being the teams place kicker for three years and the punter for two.  He ended his career with 192 points scored which ranks him 2nd in school history behind only teammate Cameron Turner.  His 15 made field goals is 5th all-time in HHS history.  He made 147 PAT’s on 155 attempts, and was 15 for 32 on field goals with a career long of 45 yards.  He punted the ball 63 times for 2,129 yards, and added 2 tackles.  He helped the team to be the class 6A state runner up in 2013 when he was named ‘All Mid-State’ as well as being honorable mention ‘All-County’.  In 2014, as a senior, Bryce was named to the ‘All-District’ team and was 1st team ‘All-County’ as a place kicker as he helped HHS earn the District 9-AAA title.  He was also voted by his teammates as the ‘Most Valuable Specialty Player’ during for the Freshman team in 2011.  His talent and ability to change field position will be challenging to replace in 2015.

2014-Handeled all of the kicking duties for the District 9-AAA Champions.  For his efforts, he was named to the ‘All-District’ team as well as making 1st team ‘All-County’ as a place kicker.  Ended the season 5 for 10 on field goals, 60 for 63 on extra points, punted 23 times for a 35.2 average, and had 1 tackle.  Converted at least 1 PAT in all 12 games including going a perfect 9 for 9 against Mt. Juliet.  Hit a career long 45 yard field goal against Lebanon, and also made field goals against Wilson Central (30 yards), Lebanon (32 yards & 45 yards), Riverdale (29 yards), and Station Camp (39 yards).  Four of his five missed field goals were attempts for 40 yards or more.  He punted the ball in 8 games ending with 23 punts for 811 yards for an average of more than 35 yards.  His season long 52 yard punt came in the team’s 2nd round playoff loss to Centennial.  Recorded 1 tackle that came in the Brentwood game.

2013-Was the teams kicker and punter all season long.  Had another solid season in the kicking game earning a spot on the ‘All Mid-State’ team as well as being named honorable mention ‘All-County’ at kicker.  Ended the season with 62 PAT’s on 65 attempts, ran for one 2 point conversion, was 5 for 10 on field goals, and accounted for 1,318 yards on 40 punts.  He converted at least one PAT in all 15 games including hitting a season best 7 for 7 in the teams semifinal victory over White Station.  Was true on field goals against Lebanon (25 yards), Brentwood (27 yards), Riverdale (31 yards), Mt. Juliet (21 yards), and hit a season long field goal of 39 yards in teams come from behind 36-35 win at Independence in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.  All 5 of his missed field goals were from 40 or more yards.  His rush for a two point conversion came against Gallatin.  Averaged 33 yards per punt on the season with a career long 53 yard punt coming in the Lebanon game.  His kicking efforts throughout the season played a major part of the team being able to make an appearance in the State Championship Game.

2012-Handled all of the kickoffs, field goals, and extra points for the COMMANDOS.  Had a solid season, finishing 22 of 24 on PAT’s, 5 of 12 on field goals, he had 1 tackle, and did a good job on kickoffs having several touchbacks.  He also kicked and punted for the JV team.  His lone tackle came against Station Camp in the season opener.  His most PAT’s in one game was 5 against Germantown when he went a perfect 5 for 5 on extra points and did not attempt a field goal.  He connected on field goals in 5 different games.  His season long 44 yarder was in the Mt. Juliet game; he also made field goals against Station Camp, Franklin, Wilson Central, and Riverdale.

2011-Pulled double duty playing for both the varsity and Freshman teams.  He wore jersey #24 for the varsity team and #15 for the Freshman team.  Handled all of the kicking duties for the Freshman team, and was a back up kicker on Friday nights.  Did a great job kicking field goals, extra points, and kickoffs for the Freshman, and won the teams ‘Most Valuable Specialty Player’ award.  His kicks were able to create great field position for the Freshman defense throughout the season.  Also was a perfect 3 for 3 in kicking extra points for the varsity team as he added a PAT against Wilson Central, Portland, and Springfield.
