What Does Commando Football Mean To You: Never doing anything to dishonor you, your family, community, school, and team. It also means coming together and forming bonds with your brothers to rise above and overcome adversity.

Jacob was a hard working kid that loved being a part of the COMMANDO football team.  He was a three year starter on Special Teams and was voted by his teammates as the teams ‘MOST VALUABLE SPECIALTY PLAYER’ for the 2016 season when he started on every specialty team.  Ended his career with 26 tackles, 3 pass break ups, 14 rushes for 48 yards, and 2 kickoff returns totaling 69 yards.  During his career he always worked hard in practice, in the weightroom, on the track, and in the classroom.  He also would consistently encourage his teammates to give their all in everything that the team did.  As important as anything else he did, Jacob was always one of the first players to volunteer his time to help out in all of the various service projects that the COMMANDOS do for our community.  He enjoyed serving others, and the program will miss him being a part of the team.

2016-Played significant time in all three phases of the game.  Started on every Special Team unit while also starting several games in the defensive secondary.  In addition, he saw some action at running back on offense.  Was voted by his teammates as the ‘MOST VALUABLE SPECIALTY PLAYER’ for his hard work during the season.  Ended the season with 14 stops and 1 pass break up on defense.  Rushed the ball 4 times for 8 yards, and had 2 kickoff returns for 69 yards.  Recorded a career high of 3 tackles in back to back games against Hillsboro and East Nashville while having at least 1 tackle in 9 of the team’s 10 games.  His pass break up came versus Glencliff.  Had 3 rushing attempts for 5 yards that included a season high of 4 yards against Siegel and also ran the ball once in the Hunters Lane game.  Had kickoff returns against Gallatin and Glencliff with his career long return being for 51 yards versus Glencliff.

2015-Saw game action in all three phases of the game.  He was a starter on Special Teams, while also seeing some game action at cornerback on defense, and running back on offense.  Ended the season with 9 tackles and 1 pass break up while rushing the ball 8 times for 38 yards.  Had a season high 2 tackles three times during the season, totaling 2 stops against East Nashville, Station Camp, and Gallatin.  Also recorded tackles against Beech, Glencliff, and Hunters Lane.  His pass break up came against Gallatin.  Ran the ball one time versus Cane Ridge, Hillsboro, Station Camp, and Glencliff.  Had 2 carries against both Gallatin as well as Shelbyville.  His career long rush came in the team’s 1st round playoff victory over Shelbyville with a 21 yard rush while carrying the ball twice for a career high 23 yards.

2014-Was a starter on the kickoff team for the District 9-AAA Champions COMMANDOS.  Also saw limited game action on Friday nights in the defensive secondary and at running back on offense.  Ended the season with 3 tackles and 1 pass break up on defense, while running the ball 2 times for 2 yards.  Recorded 1 tackle against Brentwood, Station Camp, and Independence.  His pass break up came in the Brentwood game.  Ran the ball once versus Wilson Central for no gain, and ran once against Lebanon for a season best 2 yards.

2013-Contrubuted on Special Teams and played some at Running Back and Split End on offense while also seeing some playing time in the defensive backfield.  He helped the Freshman squad to an undefeated season including a 33-30 victory over the Oakland Patriots in the Freedom Bowl to end the season.  He wore jersey #35 for the Freshman COMMANDOS.
